It was a gift of orchids from Pat that got me thinking about some combinations of colour….Shot a few images of the finished suit due on Tuesday morning for Suzanne- dyed from a mixture of Raumati marigolds saved from January and French weld bottled over winter. I bought the weld powdered dye from Couleur des plantes in Lyons during the shibori symposium to test on my return.

I used Levana fine merino knit base for the skirt layer, Sentosa stretch tissue silk for the tabard dress and hand felted top is made up of a fitted nylon bodice that I reworked. I needed something strong in colour contrast and crisp for Suzanne to wear to the Electra awards…think it works! Just needs shoes and accessories.ImageImageImage
